Commercial Finance Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develop commercial insights to assist site leadership and operational teams in making value-accretive decisions.
• Provide business case modelling support for on-site capital expenditure and make recommendations to various disciplines.
• Empower discipline managers with reporting tools regarding asset reliability, life cycle management, and total cost of ownership.
• Facilitate in-depth discussions regarding deviations from plans, identifying operational root causes for financial performance.
• Perform cost assessments for variance reporting with key recommendations for both capital and operating costs.
• Support accurate and reliable forecasting and budgeting processes by considering risks and opportunities.
• Provide discipline-specific financial reports and analysis to track performance against plans.

Requirements

• Postgraduate or Tertiary degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• CA/CPA qualification or currently studying towards a professional qualification.
• Experience managing complex commercial finance projects within a large organisation.
• Proficiency with integrated ERP systems, specifically SAP.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, and rigor in problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Queensland Coal Mining Legislation.
