Commercial Door Technician

Responsibilities

• Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial overhead, sectional, high-speed, rolling steel, and fire doors
• Service and repair dock equipment including levelers, seals, shelters, bumpers, and restraints
• Install, adjust, and repair commercial door operators, access control systems, and gate operators
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with door systems and operator components
• Complete digital work orders via company-issued phone and tablet
• Maintain a clean, organized company service vehicle and tool inventory
• Communicate professionally with commercial facility managers and warehouse personnel
• Adhere to all OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols

Requirements

• 1–3+ years of hands-on commercial door experience
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams
• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude with springs, cables, tracks, and hardware
• Ability to work independently and manage a service route
• Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with brands such as Rytec, Assa Abloy, Overhead Door, Amarr, Clopay, LiftMaster, Chamberlain, or BEA
• IDEA or DHI certification
