Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager

Responsibilities

• Research complex credit investigations and diverse credit information for loans to support underwriting and monitoring processes.
• Review and validate the accuracy of financial analysis for commercial loans and identify credit policy exceptions.
• Perform secondary credit reviews and detective controls to ensure adherence to applicable credit policies and procedures.
• Summarize errors, outline risk areas, and document findings into reports for the credit underwriting team.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and escalate risks identified from inadequate processes or error trends.
• Collaborate with internal partners and stakeholders to resolve complex situations and provide SME expertise for business initiatives.
• Quality-check the work performed by junior team members and provide constructive feedback.

Requirements

• 2+ years of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience (or equivalent through training, education, or military experience).
• Foundational AI literacy, including the ability to leverage AI tools for routine tasks while maintaining human oversight and ethical standards.
• Strong analytical approach with the ability to interpret complex data and regulatory instructions.
• Knowledge of financial statements and the ability to ascertain trends, ratios, and key risks.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA in Finance or Banking, Chartered Accountancy, or post-graduation in Economics.
• Experience with commercial credit across diversified asset classes, including corporate entities and real estate.
• Hands-on experience with banking platforms such as AFS, Loan IQ, nCino, or Collateral360.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong communication abilities.
