About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach thirty-six (36) credit hours of classes annually (15 credits each in fall and spring, and 6 credits during summer sessions)
  • Conduct classroom observations and evaluate faculty instructional performance to inform employment decisions
  • Perform academic assessments to develop or improve existing programs and identify obsolete offerings
  • Contribute to student success through strategic planning, accreditation processes, student advising, and committee participation
  • Provide administrative supervisory services as part of a 12-credit equivalent workload

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, or a Master’s Degree with 18 graduate credits in Accounting
  • Alternatively, a Master’s Degree in a different field with at least five years of related professional experience and/or professional certification/licensure
  • Two years of full-time teaching experience in the field, or at least six semesters of part-time teaching experience at the college level
  • Experience teaching diverse student populations from various academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to teach in-person at the Toms River, NJ campus

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of experience in a community college environment
  • One year of experience in distance learning or utilizing instructional technology
  • One year of experience in evaluating teaching effectiveness or supervisory experience
  • Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
