About the role

Responsibilities

  • Report to inspection sites and follow assigned inspection routes
  • Survey feeding sites at schools, day camps, parks, and playgrounds
  • Inspect locations for vermin activity and food safety compliance
  • Test and monitor food temperatures and explain findings to operators
  • Enter logs, prepare reports, and analyze data in BFSCS systems
  • Answer telephones and respond to inquiries
  • Travel across all five NYC boroughs

Requirements

  • Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school
  • Continued enrollment during employment
  • Ability to work part-time
  • Food Protection Certificate training and weekly testing
  • Willingness to travel citywide
