About the role

Responsibilities

  • Call on delinquent customers to identify root causes of delinquency and establish resolution plans for past due balances.
  • Initiate verbal and written correspondence with customers and field sales to enhance corporate cash flow.
  • Analyze portfolios to identify accounts requiring third-party collection placement or bankruptcy processes.
  • Evaluate account statuses to initiate credit suspensions and work with Sales to ensure payment.
  • Identify causes for customer deductions and recommend operational changes to reduce recurring issues.
  • Collaborate with Billing and Customer Service to ensure contractual requirements are met to avoid payment delays.
  • Maintain a positive, service-oriented attitude to improve customer relationships.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Business Management, Accounting, Banking & Finance, Liberal Arts, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of B2B collections experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other complex formulas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience specifically as a collector or deep working knowledge of collection policies.
  • Ability to adapt to various customer portals and internal software systems.
  • Proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
