Collector, Associate

Responsibilities

• Service customer needs by accurately billing accounts and ensuring timely remittance
• Resolve patient billing complaints and handle customer collection calls
• Follow up with payers to facilitate uninterrupted cash flow
• Identify and secure necessary prescriptions, prior authorizations, and medical justifications to facilitate claim payments
• Prepare and review clean claims for electronic or paper submission to various insurances
• Edit and resubmit claims for payment as needed
• Document all activities in the ERP system in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner
• Answer questions from customers, clerical staff, and insurance companies using professional phone and email etiquette

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience in a healthcare environment
• 3+ years of customer service experience
• Proficiency in medical terminology and insurance HCPC/ICD-9 codes
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook
