Collections Team Lead (Commercial)

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of Account Resolution Specialists, providing guidance, development, and talent reviews.
• Manage a portfolio of delinquent customer accounts to ensure compliance with payment and insurance requirements.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and develop long-term solutions, including workouts, modifications, or repossessions.
• Analyze delinquency and watch list reports to monitor past due accounts and recommend collection strategies.
• Act as a liaison across sales, credit, legal, and accounting departments to minimize losses and meet internal KPIs.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and collection performance.
• Ensure team compliance with collection, repossession, and credit reference policies and legal requirements.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Business or a related field, or equivalent work experience in financial services.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in financial services, collections, or receivables management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the transportation, construction, or equipment leasing industry.
• Experience working within a dealership environment.
• Bilingualism in French (verbal and written) is considered a strong asset.
