Collections Chargehand

Responsibilities

• Monitor frontline collection activities to ensure compliance with operational procedures, service standards, and assigned schedules
• Support the delivery of safe and efficient collection services by promoting compliance with health and safety policies and manual handling procedures
• Conduct operational inspections, including monitoring cleanliness standards, container presentation, and missed collections
• Provide on-the-job guidance, training, and real-time feedback to collection crews
• Record and report inspection findings and operational issues accurately using agreed systems
• Act as a key communication link between frontline crews and Supervisors to support operational coordination

Requirements

• Valid Class 2 Licence
• Proven experience working within waste collection or a similar operational environment
• Strong observational and reporting skills
• Experience monitoring operational activity and identifying service issues
• Strong awareness of health and safety requirements relevant to collection activities
• Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with operational staff
