Collaborative Accompanist

Responsibilities

• Accompany the choir during choral classes on a rotating schedule (2–3 times per week)
• Conduct sectionals for choral rehearsals and work individually with voice and instrumental students
• Learn all choral accompaniments and vocal parts; create practice recordings for students as needed
• Perform at high-profile school events, including Family Weekend, Arts Weekend, and Grandparents Day
• Support musical theater productions by directing daily rehearsals and rehearsing the pit orchestra
• Accompany musical productions during "Tech Week" and performance weekends

Requirements

• Demonstrated expert proficiency in piano accompanying performance
• Experience in conducting choral sectionals
• Strong sight-reading capabilities, specifically regarding hymnals and choral open score
• A strong commitment to working in an educational setting with the ability to mentor and guide student musicians
