Code Enforcement Officer II

Responsibilities

• Work respectfully and collaboratively with the public, jurisdictional staff, and CSG employees
• Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with all parties
• Maintain and provide accurate and timely file and record keeping for assigned code enforcement matters
• Enforce and abide by all laws and testify regarding code enforcement cases in legal proceedings
• Become proficient in the use of existing databases and resources
• Adhere to all company and jurisdictional standard operating procedures
• Drive to assigned locations and other assigned sites

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid Class "C" California driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Code Enforcement Officer or related field (planning, law enforcement, building)
• Ability to obtain PC 832 Certification within six months
• Ability to acquire Certified Code Enforcement Officer Certification within two years

Preferred Qualifications

• Existing Certified Code Enforcement Officer Certification (CACEO, AACE, or ICC)
• Associate of Arts (AA) in Code Enforcement
• Completion of an accredited technical school or college program in code enforcement, building inspection, or police sciences
• Two years of experience as a Code Enforcement Officer I
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
