COBOL Developer

Responsibilities

• COBOL development (transactional and batch) according to the roadmap
• Modeling and evolution of DL/I (IMS DB) and DB2
• Management of I/O flows (files, APIs, inter-application), mapping, and controls
• Corrective and evolutionary maintenance, code review, and process optimization
• Technical reliability including batch robustness, recovery, and logging
• Writing and executing unit tests and supporting UAT
• Production incident diagnosis, RCA, and corrective actions
• Contribution to production deployments (packages, JCL, scheduling)
• Collaboration with ASP.NET MVC / C# .NET and JBoss teams within Agile rituals

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in development
• Expertise in COBOL (mainframe)
• Knowledge of DL1 (hierarchical) and DB2 databases
• Experience with IMS conversational and CICS middleware
• Proficiency with batch scheduling tools
• Familiarity with mainframe debugging tools (e.g., BTS)
• Ability to interface with ASP.NET MVC, C# .NET, and JBoss environments
