Coatings Applicator

Responsibilities

• Apply paints, surface preparatory materials, and undercoating materials to various surfaces in compliance with MSDS and hazardous materials guidelines
• Monitor machine gauges and equipment operation to detect and correct defects or deviations from standards
• Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality through visual inspections or the use of viscometers
• Weigh and measure chemicals, coatings, or paints before machine integration
• Regulate conveyor speeds, machine temperature, air pressure, and coating flow using dials, valves, or switches
• Operate auxiliary machines, pumps, and equipment used in the coating and painting processes
• Perform test runs to ensure proper equipment setup and clean machines and work areas using appropriate solvents
• Examine, measure, and test sample products to ensure conformance to specifications
• For Level III roles: Guide paint preppers, coordinate with Material Handlers and Blasters, assign tasks, and assist the Foreman in overseeing projects

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Industrial Coating experience is required
• Level I: 1-3 years of experience
• Level II: 3-5 years of experience
• Level III: 5+ years of experience
