About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of coastal processes analyses, reports, designs, permit applications, construction drawings, and technical specifications
- Participate in hydrographic, topographic, geologic, and natural resource field data collection
- Collaborate with engineers, scientists, hydrologists, and other specialists on coastal resilience projects
- Prepare clear and concise draft documents and technical reports
- Provide peer review and mentor junior staff
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience in coastal analyses (living shorelines, beach nourishment, dredging, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in coastal, environmental, civil, or ocean engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, MATLAB, or similar modeling software
- Ability to perform physical fieldwork, including walking long distances and lifting at least 50 pounds
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel for site visits and field work
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with coastal construction observations (dredging, beach nourishment, etc.)
- Experience with field data collection (waves, currents, sediment sampling)
- Experience with environmental permitting (USACE, FDEP)
- Scientific diving or snorkeling experience
- Certified/Trained Boat Operator
