About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of coastal processes analyses, reports, designs, permit applications, construction drawings, and technical specifications
  • Participate in hydrographic, topographic, geologic, and natural resource field data collection
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, hydrologists, and other specialists on coastal resilience projects
  • Prepare clear and concise draft documents and technical reports
  • Provide peer review and mentor junior staff

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience in coastal analyses (living shorelines, beach nourishment, dredging, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in coastal, environmental, civil, or ocean engineering
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, MATLAB, or similar modeling software
  • Ability to perform physical fieldwork, including walking long distances and lifting at least 50 pounds
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel for site visits and field work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with coastal construction observations (dredging, beach nourishment, etc.)
  • Experience with field data collection (waves, currents, sediment sampling)
  • Experience with environmental permitting (USACE, FDEP)
  • Scientific diving or snorkeling experience
  • Certified/Trained Boat Operator
