Coal Technician

Responsibilities

• Accurately conduct physical coal testing and analysis of routine samples
• Receipt, record, sort, and store coal samples as required
• Comply with analytical methods, procedures, SGS Quality Systems, and onsite HSE Standards
• Perform day-to-day upkeep of analytical and sample preparation equipment
• Deliver quality samples to both internal and external customers

Requirements

• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport are essential
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks
• Flexible availability to cover various shifts, including day, afternoon, night, and weekends
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to meet tight deadlines with a "can-do" attitude

Preferred Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
• Previous experience working in a laboratory environment
• Previous experience in coal sampling and testing
