About the role
Responsibilities
- Accurately conduct physical coal testing and analysis of routine samples
- Receipt, record, sort, and store coal samples as required
- Comply with analytical methods, procedures, SGS Quality Systems, and onsite HSE Standards
- Perform day-to-day upkeep of analytical and sample preparation equipment
- Deliver quality samples to both internal and external customers
Requirements
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transport are essential
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks
- Flexible availability to cover various shifts, including day, afternoon, night, and weekends
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to meet tight deadlines with a "can-do" attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
- Previous experience working in a laboratory environment
- Previous experience in coal sampling and testing
