Coal Quality Tester

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine coal sampling and collection of production and train samples
• Perform analytical tests including Ash, Moisture, and Total Sulphur
• Assist with sample preparation and maintain laboratory equipment such as ovens, furnaces, and Leco/Sulfur units
• Ensure all work adheres to Standard Operating Procedures and safety protocols
• Validate results to ensure they fall within repeatability tolerances
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and equipment presentation

Requirements

• Previous experience in a laboratory or mining setting
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week with flexibility for extra shifts
• Willingness to travel to Boggabri and Maules Creek sites
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and unsupervised when required
