CNC Wood Machinist

Responsibilities

• Load parts into the machine and perform set-ups according to production paperwork
• Load programs, tools, and set offsets using a probing system and height gauge
• Collaborate with the programming department to update production packages
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and record machine issues
• Clean and maintain the CNC router machine and dust collection system
• Perform manual operations to prep blanks including gluing and using hand tools
• Execute low to mid-volume production runs

Requirements

• Experience in woodworking or operating wood-cutting machinery
• Experience with CNC wood routers, preferably 4-axis
• Familiarity with CNC programming languages (M and G code)
• Ability to use various hand tools and measuring equipment
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Strong attention to detail and precision

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Fagor Model 8055 controllers
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles
• Experience cutting various types of wood
