CNC Tube Laser Specialist

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC tube laser cutting machines to cut tube, pipe, and structural steel to specification
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and CAD/CAM files
• Load raw tube/pipe stock and unload/sort finished parts
• Perform first-article inspections and in-process quality checks using precision tools
• Adjust machine settings including laser power, speed, gas pressure, and focus
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical/software issues
• Maintain accurate production records including cycle times and scrap rates
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve design issues
• Follow all safety protocols and 5S standards

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on experience operating a CNC tube/pipe laser cutting machine
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
• Familiarity with various metals such as mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools like calipers and micrometers
• Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks
• Proficiency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with BLM tube laser brands
• Forklift and/or overhead crane certification
• Prior experience in structural steel, metal fabrication, or sheet metal industries
• Technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing
