CNC Setup Technician

Responsibilities

• Interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications to guide production.
• Prepare and select correct tools, attachments, and materials for specific machine operations.
• Set up and configure CNC machine control systems, including G-codes and M-codes.
• Perform initial test runs to verify machine settings and accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues related to setup or operation.
• Calibrate and adjust equipment for optimal performance.
• Perform preventative maintenance and maintain a safe, organized work environment.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a related field or 3-5 years of machine shop experience in a production setting.
• Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages (G-codes and M-codes).
• Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in mathematics and geometry.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and other relevant computer applications.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
