CNC Setter Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes, milling machines, and multi-axis machine centres according to production requirements
• Set and machine first-off pieces for new jobs, including accurate reading of clock gauges
• Load and program machines, setting machining parameters to meet manufacturing specifications
• Maintain production schedules to ensure plant output meets company targets
• Troubleshoot operational issues and continuously improve machine efficiencies
• Adhere strictly to quality requirements and proactively report any deviations
• Follow 5S principles to maintain an organized and efficient workspace
• Ensure safety by using appropriate personal protective equipment at all times

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a CNC machining environment
• Proficiency with Fanuc, HAAS, and Mazatrol CNC controls
• Basic CNC programming skills, including manual loading and electronic program transfers
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong mathematics proficiency for calculating feeds, speeds, and other technical requirements
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and 5S methodology
• Matriculation certificate with Mathematics as a compulsory subject

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualification
• Exposure to Motoman robot programming
• Valid overhead crane license
