CNC Programmer

Responsibilities

• Develop, prove out, and optimize CNC programs for 5-axis machining centers, CNC lathes, and Swiss-type lathes
• Translate engineering models and GD&T drawings into manufacturing processes
• Generate and maintain CAM programs, post-processors, and tool libraries
• Lead first-article runs and drive cycle-time reduction and scrap reduction
• Author and maintain process documentation including setup sheets and work instructions
• Partner with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering on tolerance feasibility and inspection planning
• Support equipment commissioning and mentor machinists and operators

Requirements

• 5+ years of CNC programming experience with 5-axis milling and Swiss-type lathes
• Proficiency with CAM packages such as Mastercam, Esprit, GibbsCAM, or Fusion 360
• Strong knowledge of G-code/M-code and control platforms like Fanuc or Siemens
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and apply GD&T
• Experience machining metals like stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work required shifts, overtime, or weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in regulated environments (NQA-1, AS9100, or ISO 9001)
• Experience in nuclear, aerospace, or defense industries
• Familiarity with mill-turn machining and macro/parametric programming
• Working knowledge of CMM/inspection processes and FAI
• Lean manufacturing or continuous-improvement experience
• Journeyman machinist background or formal technical credential
