CNC Programmer

Responsibilities

• Plan, create, verify, and revise machine control programs and documentation for multi-axis numerically controlled machines
• Provide technical expertise in large format milling and turning to engineering and manufacturing teams
• Define requirements for fixtures and workholding used in part manufacturing
• Collaborate with manufacturing and design engineers to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM)
• Select appropriate tools, machine speeds, and feed rates based on part specifications and machine capabilities
• Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing process issues and assist with root cause analysis
• Mentor less experienced CNC programmers and implement new standards within the department
• Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental (EHS) procedures and use required PPE

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of CNC programming experience
• Proficiency with Mastercam and VeriCut
• Experience with solid modeling software such as SolidWorks or CREO
• Experience with 2D CAD tools (AutoCAD, KeyCreator, or similar)
• Strong GD&T knowledge
• Experience with 4-axis and 5-axis machining

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with on-machine probing programming for setup and inspection
• Experience with redundant tooling macros and tool assembly libraries
• Lean manufacturing experience
• Industrial welding process experience
