CNC Operator & Shop Technician

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC machines, including 4 & 5 axis mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines.
• Fabricate metal parts to precise specifications for prototypes and small production runs.
• Review CAD files, technical drawings, blueprints, and sketches to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Use Mastercam software to program CNC machines for high-quality part production.
• Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials based on engineering requirements.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools and instruments to ensure quality.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to optimize manufacturability and resolve production challenges.
• Maintain detailed documentation of programming, machine setups, and material usage.
• Troubleshoot CNC machines, tooling, and production processes.
• Adhere to all company safety protocols to maintain an organized and efficient work environment.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on CNC programming and operation experience, ideally with prototypes or low-volume production.
• Proficiency in CNC programming using Mastercam or similar software.
• Strong ability to read and interpret CAD models, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience using precision measurement tools.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative team mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a certificate or diploma program in CNC programming, machining, or a related field.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
