CNC Operator & Shop Technician

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (including 4 & 5 axis mills, lathes, and multi-axis) to fabricate metal parts for prototypes and small production runs
• Review CAD files and technical drawings from engineering to determine required dimensions, tolerances, and sequences of operations
• Use Mastercam software to program CNC machines for high-quality part production
• Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials based on engineering requirements
• Inspect finished parts and prototypes using precision measuring tools and instruments
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to optimize manufacturability and resolve production challenges
• Maintain detailed documentation of programming, machine setups, and material usage
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC machines, tooling, or production processes
• Adhere to all company safety protocols to ensure a safe and organized work environment

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on CNC programming and operation experience, ideally with prototypes or low-volume production
• Proficiency in CNC programming using Mastercam or similar software
• Strong ability to read and interpret CAD models, blueprints, and technical drawings
• Experience using precision measurement tools and instruments
• Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a certificate or diploma program in CNC programming, machining, or a related field
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
