CNC Operator

Responsibilities

• Grind rotary tooling to specification using manual and CNC equipment
• Set up indication and grinding of rotary tooling
• Set blade clearance per specifications and work instructions
• Use micrometers to measure bearer diameter to determine taper and clearance
• Compare order forms to work instructions to ensure proper roll selection
• Maintain grinding wheels and tooling supplies
• Perform machine maintenance tasks, including grinding flats in rolls when needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work area by sweeping and following PPE protocols
• Communicate machine issues, crashes, or problems to the department lead

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous machining experience or trade school graduate
• Proficiency using micrometers and calipers
• Strong basic mathematics skills
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs occasionally
• Ability to stand for extended periods (2 hours at a time)
• Availability to work 3rd shift and perform occasional overtime
