CNC Operator

Responsibilities

• Grind rotary tooling to specification using both manual and CNC equipment
• Set up indication and grinding of rotary tooling
• Set blade clearance per work instructions and double-check clearance on roll tags
• Compare order forms to work instructions to ensure proper roll selection and clearance
• Measure bearer diameter using micrometers to determine taper and clearance
• Maintain grinding wheels and tooling supplies
• Perform machine maintenance tasks, including grinding flats in rolls when needed
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace, including sweeping and wearing proper PPE
• Communicate machine issues, crashes, or problems to the department lead

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous machining experience or graduate of a trade school
• Proficiency using precision measuring tools, specifically micrometers and calipers
• Strong basic mathematics skills
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs occasionally and stand for extended periods
• Ability to work the 3rd shift, including occasional overtime
