CNC Machinist

Responsibilities

• Train and mentor apprentices and shop personnel
• Carry out machining as per engineering drawings and instructions
• Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and safe work practices
• Complete product, repair, and inspection documentation
• Maintain and create accurate daily records
• Report machine and infrastructure faults to OEM
• Perform fitting, maintenance, and general hand duties as required
• Care for and organize company gauges and measuring equipment
• Undertake shift work to meet operational needs

Requirements

• Current and appropriate Trade Certificate
• Minimum 5 years of experience operating and programming metal working machinery
• Minimum 5 years of experience operating manual metal working machinery
• Understanding of manual and computer-controlled turning and milling equipment
• Knowledge of steel grades and machining characteristics
• Current forklift and large wheeled loader licenses
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, and waste elimination
• Physical fitness appropriate to the role
