CNC Machinist - Programmer

Responsibilities

• Lead turning program development for 2, 3, and 5 axis lathes
• Develop complete machining processes including tooling selection, speeds/feeds, and work holding
• Create set-up sheets for production runs
• Interpret prints and models to create efficient machining approaches
• Work directly with operators and set-up personnel to support daily production
• Support frequent job changeovers and short-run parts
• Identify and implement improvements to cycle times, tool life, and process reliability
• Maintain a master part program library
• Support programming for 3 and 4 axis machining centers as needed

Requirements

• 5+ years of CNC programming experience
• Strong lathe programming experience
• Working knowledge of Vertical Machining Centers
• Experience with Mastercam
• Familiarity with OSP and/or Fanuc controls
• Ability to read prints and apply GD&T
• Ability to work in a high-mix, low-volume environment
• Self-sufficient with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks for model review and basic modification
• Experience supporting prototype or short-run production environments
• 3/4 axis programming experience
