CNC Machinist

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes with minimum supervision to produce precision components
• Work from blueprints and verbal instructions to select proper tooling and determine speeds and feeds
• Write CNC lathe programs from blueprints and utilize conversational programming
• Perform precision machining tasks, including the ability to spiral groove
• Use inspection and measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, and calipers to ensure quality
• Maintain close tolerance work to specifications of .0005 inch
• Follow written set-up sheets and utilize support equipment like Boring Bars and Steadyrests

Requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency in CNC Lathe setup and operation
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Experience with CNC programming and understanding CNC computer language
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (mics, bore gauges, calipers)
• Strong shop math skills (must be able to pass a shop math test)
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM software
• Ability to work the 2nd shift
