CNC Machinist

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machine centers or boring bars with minimum supervision
• Work from blueprints and verbal instructions to select proper tooling
• Determine appropriate speeds and feeds to produce products according to quality and safety standards
• Write CNC milling programs directly from blueprints
• Use inspection and measuring instruments, including micrometers, bore gauges, and calipers, to hold close tolerances
• Follow written set-up sheets and verbal instructions to ensure precision
• Utilize support equipment for machine set-ups and part inspections

Requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency in CNC machine center or boring bar setup and operation
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Proficiency with G&M codes
• Experience writing CNC milling programs
• Ability to use precision inspection instruments (mics, bore gauges, calipers)
• Proficiency in shop math for calculating speeds, feeds, and surface footage
• Ability to hold close tolerance work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GibbsCam software
• Experience with conversational “at machine” programming
