CNC Machinist

Responsibilities

• Operate manual machine tools and shop equipment to perform complex machining on large castings
• Interpret engineering drawings and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
• Perform mathematical and geometric calculations for machining and programming tasks
• Set up and machine large castings, accommodating variations and deformities
• Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, bore gauges, and protractors
• Monitor tool wear and replace or re-sharpen tooling as necessary
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Perform routine maintenance on assigned equipment
• Rig, lift, and manipulate heavy castings safely using cranes and other shop equipment
• Mentor and train other machinists on shop processes and responsibilities

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Proven experience operating manual machine equipment in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and applying GD&T
• Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 75 lbs
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience machining large or heavy castings
• Experience with crane and rigging operations
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
