CNC Machinist

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional and/or CNC machine tools (lathes, boring mills, milling machines, grinding machines, or shapers) to produce precision parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, program readouts, and technical directives to determine required materials and cutting tools.
• Perform basic machine setups and align parts according to set methods and reference points.
• Use measuring instruments such as micrometers, height and depth gages, and indicators to maintain critical dimensions and tolerances.
• Monitor machine operations to recognize defective tooling, improper coolant flow, or dimensional deviations, and make necessary adjustments.
• Follow detailed work instructions (WI, OPS, or OPL) and comply with all company quality assurance principles.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement, 5-S projects, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience performing basic machine setups.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
• Basic understanding of trade mathematics.
• Basic computer skills (knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is a plus).
• Ability to meet daily and weekly production targets.
• Willingness to work overtime and different shifts as needed.
