About the role

Responsibilities

  • Setup, adjust, and operate CNC lathes and mills to manufacture parts according to precise specifications
  • Work from drawings, sketches, and blueprints to complete various machining operations
  • Edit CNC programs to ensure parts are manufactured per technical requirements
  • Perform machine setups to achieve close tolerances, proper fitting, and alignment
  • Conduct first-piece inspections and monitor work-in-progress using various measuring devices
  • Maintain necessary records including time, part counts, and inspection results
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines according to the PM schedule
  • Troubleshoot issues related to drawings, tooling, programming, and materials
  • Monitor machine shop equipment to prevent improper use or incorrect setups

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of machinist experience (trade school apprenticeship or equivalent shop experience)
  • Proficiency in shop math and blueprint reading

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clear oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain a clean area to 5S standards
  • Ability to meet productivity standards and complete work in a timely manner
