Responsibilities

• Create and optimize CNC programs in CAM software such as Fusion 360 or Mastercam
• Set up and run 5-axis Haas mills and Haas lathes to produce precision prototype components
• Select tooling, cutting parameters, and machining strategies for various materials
• Design, fabricate, and modify fixtures, jigs, and workholding solutions
• Perform first-article inspections and verify dimensional accuracy using precision measuring equipment
• Deburr, finish, tap, ream, and bench-fit parts to specification
• Support mechanical assembly of prototypes, engineering fixtures, and test equipment
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to improve manufacturability and efficiency
• Manage raw stock, tooling, and finished parts with clear organization and traceability
• Maintain equipment, tooling, and a clean, safe workspace

Requirements

• 4+ years of CNC machining experience, ideally in prototype or low-volume work
• Hands-on experience programming and running 5-axis Haas mills and Haas lathes
• Proficiency with CAM software (Fusion 360, Mastercam, or equivalent)
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T
• Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, plastics, and other engineering materials
• Experience designing and building custom fixtures and workholding
• Solid bench and assembly skills including deburring, tapping, reaming, and fitting
• Proficiency with precision inspection tools like calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges
• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with engineers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting robotics, automation, aerospace, or R&D prototype environments
• Familiarity with parametric CAD packages such as SolidWorks
• Working knowledge of process optimization and fixture design best practices
• Experience with additional machine tools such as manual mills, lathes, or surface grinders
