CNC Machinist

Responsibilities

• Machine parts to precise specifications using tools such as mills, lathes, saws, or grinders
• Perform rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, and thread cutting on various ferrous and non-ferrous metals
• Set up, adjust, and operate basic and specialized machine tools, including aligning holding fixtures and cutting tools
• Measure, examine, and test completed units using precision instruments like micrometers and Vernier calipers to ensure conformance
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematical knowledge
• Monitor machine feed and speeds during the machining process
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas and adhere to all established safety procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 2-4 years of machining experience, including machine tool setup and operation
• Proficiency in using precision measurement instruments
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations for tolerances and dimensions
• Experience working from drawings, route sheets, and technical specifications
