About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform setup, changeover, and operation of Mill-turn, Twin Turret, CNC Grinding, or Sliding head machines
- Install and adjust work holding, tooling, and tool wear offsets
- Load and operate CNC machines efficiently to minimize downtime
- Verify programs and settings using various measuring and inspection equipment
- Identify production process tool wear and perform timely adjustments or replacements
- Electronically register and record all process operations and maintain daily results
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities and maintain high housekeeping standards
- Perform daily cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery
- Train and mentor other machinists and apprentices on site
Requirements
- Skilled, time-served engineer with experience setting and operating CNC machines
- Good level of numeracy and literacy
- Proficient IT skills
- Ability to communicate honestly, professionally, and respectfully
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong mathematical computation skills, including trigonometry, fractions, and ratios
- Experience working to tight tolerances in a wide range of materials
- Knowledge of cutting tool setting, applications, and complex fixtures
- Experience in Aerospace machining or working within AS9100/ISO 9001 environments
- Ability to troubleshoot machining processes and work under own initiative
- Experience in a dynamic sub-contract machining environment
