About the role
Responsibilities
- Assemble machine sub-components and install sub-assemblies into main assemblies
- Conduct machine qualification and inspection activities to ensure conformance to customer specifications
- Verify part conformance to blueprints and stock lists using measuring instruments, gauges, and micrometers
- Verify alignment and tolerance of moving parts using dial indicators and thickness gauges
- Install and connect pneumatic components and manage mechanical, hydraulic, and lubrication systems
- Set up machines to perform test jobs and verify machine capabilities and functioning
- Identify, document, and communicate build issues to engineering and assembly teams
- Use power tools, cranes, and various hand tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Complete Qualification and Inspection sheets for all machine cycles and safety requirements
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and diagrams
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with the machine build process
- Ability to set up and interpret measurement equipment (e.g., dial/electronic indications)
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and familiarity with SAP or similar systems
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment involving standing, walking, and lifting up to 40 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 4 years of related experience in machine assembly or inspection
