About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist and observe Machine Shop team members to develop hands-on CNC machining experience
- Cut and shape metals using a variety of CNC machines following technical drawings and procedures
- Perform equipment set-up, calibration, and machine warm-up procedures
- Conduct maintenance, pre-start checks, and inspections of machined parts
- Complete assigned tasks in line with weekly production plans
- Attend college sessions (approximately 20% of time) and complete all apprenticeship requirements
- Participate in regular progress reviews with BSC and the training provider
Requirements
- 4 GCSE Math Grade A-C
- 4 GCSE English Grade A-C
- Strong commitment to completing the full 3.5–4 year apprenticeship
- Good attendance and timekeeping
- Ability to consistently follow instructions, processes, and procedures
- Proactive attitude with the confidence to ask questions and suggest improvements
