About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, and skin care.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, weight, and temperature, reporting abnormalities to the RN.
- Assist patients with positioning, transfers, ambulation, and the use of medical equipment like Hoyer lifts, commodes, and wheelchairs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for patients to promote optimal well-being.
- Document patient health status and services provided accurately and descriptively.
- Report changes in patient condition, accidents, or grievances immediately to the Case Manager or Clinical Manager.
- Offer emotional support to patients and families in accordance with hospice philosophy.
Requirements
- Current Florida CNA certification.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License and valid auto insurance.
- Experience caring for terminally ill patients or those with life-threatening illnesses.
- Ability to work a part-time schedule (shift is 2 days per week).
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in a clinical setting.
