Cloud Services Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of secure cloud infrastructures leveraging Azure
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define cloud architecture and establish migration strategies
• Architect and implement cloud-native solutions via DevSecOps methodologies
• Architect Kubernetes environments using both self-hosted clusters and cloud-native solutions like AKS, EKS, or GKE
• Provide technical guidance on cloud security, compliance (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST), and infrastructure as code
• Lead infrastructure automation using Terraform, ARM/Bicep, and PowerShell scripting
• Design solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, and incident response
• Mentor cloud engineering teams to integrate services into the application lifecycle

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance (or willingness to accept interim TS or Secret)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in cloud architecture with hands-on Azure experience
• Expertise in IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms
• Strong experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform, ARM, Bicep)
• Proficiency in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Deep understanding of cloud security frameworks and network architectures
• Proficient in scripting with PowerShell or Python
• Experience in customer-facing roles translating business needs to technical requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect certification
• Experience with DevSecOps, microservices, and cloud-native development
• Expertise in cloud cost optimization and monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, CloudWatch)
• Prior experience in government or federal environments
