Cloud Security Researcher

Responsibilities

• Research emerging technologies, threats, and vulnerabilities in SaaS and enterprise products to create actionable alerting scenarios
• Investigate security system logs to detect intrusions or misconfigurations and develop detections
• Write detection rule documentation with actionable mitigation recommendations
• Publish research findings internally for customers and externally for blogs or marketing
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to evolve the Snowbit product and knowledge base
• Participate in security escalation support and provide security guidance
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies to shape product direction
• Participate in public cybersecurity media, forums, and events

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in security research within large or complex organizations
• Experience managing and securing enterprise IT environments with an emphasis on cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Familiarity with cloud and SaaS attack vectors and misconfigurations
• Hands-on experience in offensive or defensive enterprise security
• Experience with threat modeling using MITRE ATT&CK/D3FEND or Attack Kill Chain
• Proficiency with query languages such as Kibana, KQL, Lucene, or Splunk
• Ability to work with JSON files and write complex queries and rules

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong technical writing abilities for blogs and comprehensive reports
• Deep knowledge of Cloud security principles
• Experience with Regex or additional query languages
• Knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Python or JavaScript
