About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud platform services supporting Kubernetes, containers, ingress, and storage integration
- Build and sustain reusable deployment patterns for COTS, Open Source, and customized applications
- Develop automation for platform provisioning, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle support
- Manage cluster lifecycle activities including node management, add-on management, and capacity planning
- Support shared platform services such as Azure Kubernetes Service, OpenShift, or Tanzu
- Partner with infrastructure and application teams to onboard services onto the platform
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform hosting, connectivity, and integration issues
- Improve deployment consistency using Helm-based configuration, Git-based workflows, and Infrastructure as Code
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in cloud platform engineering
- 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- 3+ years of experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- 3+ years of experience with GitLab, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD
- 3+ years of experience with cloud, containerization, and automation
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance
- Ability to obtain access to Special Access Programs (SAP)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience hosting enterprise COTS/OSS applications on Kubernetes
- Experience with Helm charts, operators, and container image lifecycle management
- Experience with persistent storage integration and backup/recovery
- Certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Azure Solutions Architect
