About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage cloud networking architectures including VPCs, subnets, routing, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs
- Automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or Pulumi
- Integrate networking into CI/CD workflows and cloud-native deployments, specifically focusing on Kubernetes networking, ingress controllers, and service mesh
- Troubleshoot complex Linux-based networking issues across layers 3–7, including TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, and iptables
- Partner with DevOps, Security, and Engineering teams to improve platform performance, availability, and security
- Contribute to network observability and monitoring using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog
- Document network designs, processes, and runbooks, and participate in an on-call rotation
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Network Engineering with a strong cloud focus
- Hands-on expertise with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud networking (VPCs, routing, load balancing, firewalls)
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, or Helm)
- Experience with Kubernetes networking (CNI, ingress, service mesh)
- Excellent troubleshooting skills in Linux networking environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working in cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of traditional data center networking (Cisco, Arista, Juniper, F5)
- Familiarity with routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, or GRE
- Experience implementing security best practices like network segmentation and zero-trust
- Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or Go
- Exposure to observability stacks including ELK or Datadog
