Cloud Architect

Responsibilities

• Design and implement reference architectures for AWS and hybrid cloud/on-premises environments
• Lead the architecture and implementation of secure, repeatable Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) patterns using Terraform
• Establish standardized landing zone practices, including account structure, guardrails, and cost controls
• Architect and support virtualized compute fleets using VMware/vSphere patterns for on-premises environments
• Partner with security teams to implement secure-by-design architectures, including least privilege IAM and encryption
• Design for resilience and continuity through backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies
• Produce clear architecture documentation, including logical/physical diagrams and environment definitions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or 4 years of additional experience
• 15+ years of experience in cloud architecture, systems engineering, or infrastructure engineering
• 3+ years of experience as a hands-on AWS architect or lead
• Deep expertise with AWS core services (networking, IAM, logging, compute, storage)
• Hands-on expertise with Terraform for production-grade IaC
• Experience designing and operating hybrid environments (cloud + on-prem virtualization)
• Active TS/SCI security clearance
• Ability to travel internationally up to 10% and possess/obtain a valid passport

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certifications, such as Solutions Architect Professional
• Experience with VMware/vSphere architecture and operations
• Familiarity with configuration automation tools like Ansible or Packer
• Experience with GitOps-style workflows and observability patterns
