Clinical Veterinarian

Responsibilities

• Direct the clinical care of sick and injured mice and provide bio-methods or surgical training to staff
• Serve as a veterinary member of the Animal Care and Use Committee, participating in protocol review and policy writing
• Respond to employee and customer inquiries regarding the care, health, and welfare of mice
• Collaborate with pathologists and the Biosecurity Officer to investigate unusual clinical cases or infectious diseases
• Participate in research studies, including data analysis and reporting
• Sign and negotiate health certificates

Requirements

• DVM/VMD degree and a valid U.S. license to practice veterinary medicine
• At least 2 years of experience working as a laboratory animal veterinarian
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse scientific disciplines

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a laboratory animal residency program
• Board certification or eligibility in a relevant veterinary specialty (e.g., ACLAM)
