About the role

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Mental Health and Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) services to detainees, ensuring care respects dignity, culture, and rights
  • Provide line management for the Mental Health and AOD primary health care team
  • Oversee Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) Pharmacotherapy at the facility
  • Support the Health Service Manager in maintaining smooth clinical operations
  • Identify service delivery issues and implement sustainable, person-centred solutions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to strategic planning

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing degree
  • Minimum of five years’ post-graduate clinical experience in a relevant healthcare setting
  • Postgraduate qualification in mental health and/or AOD (AQF recognised)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to inspire and motivate a multidisciplinary team
  • Solid understanding of healthcare regulations, standards of care, and clinical governance
