About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate registration, data collection, and research study coordination for the Michael Cuccione Childhood Cancer Research Program and pediatric oncology surveillance programs.
- Identify and track potential patients, reviewing and confirming eligibility based on specific project criteria.
- Retrieve, document, and interpret complex data from health records for treatment and outcome surveillance.
- Manage biological sample handling, coordination, and shipment according to protocols.
- Prepare for and assist with audit and monitoring visits, including identifying source documents and creating responses to reports.
- Maintain and organize study files, new patient databases, and annual follow-up databases.
- Liaise with physicians, nurses, and outside institutions to facilitate information exchange and participant transfers.
- Ensure all research activities are conducted according to legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- University degree or completion of a relevant technical program.
- Minimum of 3 years of related research or clinical experience.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficiency with patient record systems.
- High level of computer literacy, specifically with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Health Information Technologist/Health Information Management diploma or unit clerk certificate.
- Experience working in an oncology setting, specifically pediatric oncology.
- Certified member of the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA).
