About the role
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day study protocol tasks including participant recruitment, screening, enrollment, and follow-up.
- Maintain effective communication and relationships with study subjects, clinicians, healthcare providers, and sponsors.
- Assist with research team meetings, investigator check-ins, sponsor visits, and external audits.
- Perform data entry activities, including Protected Health Information (PHI), clinical, and administrative data.
- Maintain accurate clinical research files, including questionnaires, case report forms (CRFs), and adverse event (AE) reporting.
- Coordinate financial transactions related to the study, such as participant compensation.
- Adhere to workplace and patient safety protocols and maintain research supply inventory.
- Participate in an "on-call" rotation for studies requiring weekend or after-hours procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, training, and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills.
- Ability to work semi-independently within a deadline-driven, multi-tasking environment.
- Strong customer-service orientation and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
- Commitment to fostering diversity and equity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bi-lingual (Spanish and English).
- 2 years of experience in a relevant clinical research field.
- Familiarity with Columbia health and research systems.
- Experience with electronic medical records or research data entry tools such as Epic, REDCap, Qualtrics, iLab, or OpenSpecimen.
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, HIPAA, and IRB regulatory compliance.
