About the role

Responsibilities

  • Screen potential patients for protocol eligibility and maintain monthly screening logs
  • Present trial concepts and details to patients and facilitate the informed consent process
  • Coordinate study patient scheduling for tests and treatments required by the protocol
  • Document changes in patient condition, adverse events, concomitant medications, and protocol compliance
  • Report serious adverse events and protocol deviations to the sponsor and/or IRB per regulatory guidelines
  • Dispense oral or IV study drugs via sponsor-provided portals and maintain pharmacy accountability logs
  • Ensure accurate data collection, entry, query resolution, and timely submission of research data
  • Prepare for study visits by reviewing protocols, consent forms, patient charts, and study-specific checklists
  • Support principal investigators with monitoring visits, study updates, and query resolution
  • Maintain regulatory compliance, staff delegation documentation, and HIPAA standards

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; BS degree in science or healthcare preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and must live in the State of Alabama
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, clinical medicine, surgery, and oncology
  • Excellent computer, written, and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and work independently
  • Exceptional attention to detail and reading comprehension for complex study protocols
  • Understanding of HIPAA, GCP, OSHA, CDC, and applicable regulatory guidelines
