Clinical Research Assistant

Responsibilities

• Support participant care and event operations, including phlebotomy, specimen handling, and documentation.
• Perform venipuncture and capillary collections while maintaining aseptic technique and participant comfort.
• Handle and prepare biospecimens, including labeling, processing, packaging, and shipping under proper chain-of-custody and temperature controls.
• Accurately document all procedures and results in approved electronic or paper systems according to regulatory compliance (GxP, HIPAA).
• Help set up and manage clinical research event stations, prepare kits, and maintain an organized workspace.
• Welcome participants and guide them through the event flow to ensure a professional experience.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience performing phlebotomy and specimen handling activities.
• Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.
• Active and unrestricted State Board of Nursing license in good standing.
• Proficiency in venipuncture and specimen handling best practices.
• Strong attention to detail regarding labeling, documentation, and chain-of-custody integrity.
• Ability to use mobile apps and e-source tools for real-time logging.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, event-based environment and handle physical demands including standing and exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
